Wedding

Destination wedding is rather a new term. At least to me last year. I only heard it from WeddingsMalaysia where they promote a lot about destination wedding last year. It’s getting rather famous now especially if you have a lot to spare, like a special wedding or you are rich. Hehe!

Anyway, I received this free workshop email from WeddingsMalaysia. It’s a destination wedding photography workshop by Kidd Chan, a famous photographer. I think it’s a good workshop and the best thing is it’s free. Hehe!

Here is the link if you are interested to know more.

The latest free workshop from Weddings Malaysia. This is a good workshop for bride-to-be to learn more about makeup.

Date: Sunday 20th July 2008

Time: 2 pm

Venue: The Wedding Hub

I wish I can go as I love to learn more about makeup which is something that I have no skill at. Unfortunately, there’s limited seats available and I couldn’t have taken up seat that is most useful for bride-to-be. What a pity that I have already married…hehehe!

Occasionally, I still received emails from Kris Wong from Weddings Malaysia. They have a lot of promotions and events throughout the years which I find very good especially if you are planning your wedding. As I have gone through mine already, these promotions are not useful to me anymore but I’m still happy to know. I especially love their free workshop. So informative and so much goodies.

Weddings Malaysia’s latest promotion is “Do yourself a wedding favour and DIY reception table decoration workshop”. Click here for more information if you are interested.

Another wedding stuff news is Covershots Ampang is moving. To a new place in Kelana Jaya Waterfront beginning August 08. I received an sms earlier this month about their move. They also have promotion for us the former customer. For the last chance to take photos at this colonial bungalow in Ampang. Here’s their promotion package:

COVERSHOTS COTTAGE SPECIAL ~ RM1,000
Makeup & hairstyling
6″ album
11 x 5R photos in album
1 x wedding gown for photoshoot
Data CD of 11 exposures

To all our FORMER CUSTOMERS, we would also like to give away a FREE photo shot!
Just bring a picture of yourself taken at Covershots and you will be entitled to a free 8R shot.
If the shots previously included your mate, or your family, then they’ll be included too!

Of course, we are entitled for this free shot as we are former customer. In fact, the whole family of Looi is entitled for this free shot as we took the family photography package last time. Haha! Unfortunately, we are done with wedding photography so it’s unlikely we will sign up for such package.

However, to those looking for simple wedding photography, Covershots is the recommended place to go. Now they even put in the wedding gown in the package, which is good. Truly worth it!

My dear sister Caswin has finally gone through another of her wedding dinner last night at the Restaurant Noble House. It was a small banquet of 20 tables, inviting mostly her husband’s and her friends and colleagues. I couldn’t help much as I don’t even know her circle of friends. Nevertheless, I just managed to be a ‘vase in display’..haha..together with my cousin sister, helping slightly with the guest seating and chatting with my relatives.

My sister’s best ‘ji muis’ gave us a surprise entertainment by singing for my sister. Both ladies sang a song from Sammi Cheng and presented her with two bouquets of flowers. So lovely. Of course my sister couldn’t help herself but to shed a tear of happiness. So lovely of them to make my sister that happy.

Wishing her and her husband a happy wedding and blissful marriage ahead. Congratulation!

Do you wish to become the publisher of your own book? Someone like May Zhee. Hehe! Maybe not as dramatic or that intellectual. How about a wedding photo book? Coffee table book? Vacation photo book? Baby photo book? Something of sort and anything you want in your book. Hehe!

My favorite beach holiday photo book by Pixart

Claire has recommended me Blurb for making my own book. Not that I want any now but it’s a definitely good to know. She told me that Blurb has better quality compared to local supplier that provides similar service. I would agree because Blurb is international. The price starts from $12.95 which comes up to around RM50. Very similar to Pixart and Photobook which are local suppliers. Pixart is charging minimum RM50 too and depends what you choose. All these services need you to download their special software and start putting your own photos into the book. Once you are satisfied with your book, save it and send to them to be printed. Normally you will required to pay online for the book plus delivery charge. Depending on how big is your book and the quality you want for your book, the cost of the book will roughly come up to RM100 or more.

I have actually tried Pixart before for my ROM photo book but that book has never materialized because the cost was around RM150 and at the end I didn’t have the heart to spend the money for it. My friend Angie did use Pixart for her ROM photo book which cost around the same as mine. I’m lucky enough to have her brought the book for me to see one day when we met. The book is good enough for the price, I would say. Not bad at all. But most importantly, Angie is happy with it. That’s all that matter.

For those who wish to become a publisher of his or her own book, do check out them and start make your own book today.

Our wedding lunch in Ipoh last year was at Restaurant Tuck Kee as was my sister’s wedding dinner last month. I didn’t feature much about my wedding lunch in Ipoh last time due to 1) no good photos to show, 2) no time to take note about the restaurant and 3) totally forgotten about it. Hehe! Now, since my sister’s wedding dinner was at the same place and as my darling was the photographer, I have something to show now. As to compensate what’s missing during my wedding that time. Haha!

Don’t ask me what’s written there because I only recognise my father’s name. Hehe!

The backdrop

The same VIP table as ours last time.

The same type of favor…cakes. We didn’t even get to eat them last time, what more take photo of them. Haha! At least now, we have taken some photos as our own remembrance anyway.

Finally, my dear sister had her first wedding dinner in Ipoh last Saturday. What can I say now? One word: hectic. It’s more hectic than my own wedding I think you. After I came back to work, my colleagues found me very quiet. I think I was still not myself yet. I had nothing good to share other than my sister’s gorgeous. I bet she had a great time. But definitely not us. My darling and I didn’t even have the chance to eat during the dinner. It was that bad. My darling had to become the photographer and I the TKJ who held the tea sets following my sister wherever she needed to give teas to the elderly. Sigh! I have nothing much to tell other than damn tired. Anyway, at least I did my part as a sister.

There’s another dinner in KL soon. I bet she expects me to help again. My darling has ‘forbidden’ me to help as we need to enjoy as spectators now since she did the same during our wedding. But how can I not help? She’s my only sister after all. Maybe I just should arrive late, that’s all. Haha!

I always visit Weng Yap’s website to see beautiful wedding photos that he took. At last, I saw something very familiar. Haha! It’s our wedding photos there. And I was surprised to see there’s a lot of comments from others to compliment Weng Yap’s good job. I’m glad that people do think our photos are beautiful. I know I’m not at all photogenic but thanks to Weng Yap we all look good. Seeing the photos again does bring back sweet memory. It seems like it happened long time ago but in fact it was just six months ago.

Every weekend when we pass by Seri Cempaka Suite, my darling would remind me of those sweet memory that he came to pick me up that morning on our wedding day. It’s really funny hearing my darling remind me every time. Haha! It seems that he cannot forget that day. He has also seen the photos zealous times at home, saying they are so nice and pretty and happy. We truly treasure our sweet moments together. So much joy and happiness. Just hope we can continue to share sweet moment together until old age.

Of course it’s not mine. Haha! I’m just glad my own wedding has passed with the most happy memory. Just found out recently that many of my friends especially ex-schoolmates are getting married this year. The wedding bells are ringing very loudly this year. Not only one or two are getting married but so far, I got 6 announcements. All said for this year. With my sister’s nuptial coming this month, that makes it 7 wedding this year. Oh no, I nearly forgot another ex-collegemate’s wedding in March. So that makes it 8 this year. Oh my! So many. Even hotter than last year.

I told my colleagues about this news and they are shocked. On second thoughts, they said it’s about time too. Ladies at my age should be getting married now. Just the right time. Among my group of ex-schoolmates, I was considered the third early one who got married. At that time, most of them are either single or still courting. Suddenly, there’s announcement one after another to tell about their wedding or engagement. Totally shock but at the same time so happy for them.

I truly wish my friends happy wedding day with the best happy memory. As sweet as mine I hope. Hehe!

Let me introduce to you my only sister, Caswin. She my only and older sister of mine. She is always the taller, slimmer and prettier one. No doubt after you see the picture later. I envy her that she got the look from our father’s face, the higher cheekbones and sharper features. Anyway, I’m here to tell everyone the good news. At last, my only sister is getting married to her long-term boyfriend of 7 or 8 years. Sigh. At last. Haha!

She has recently taken the pre-wedding photos and is very happy to share some self-taken photos with me. She’s gorgeous, I tell you. How I envy her!
Caswin in her wedding gown. Love the veil.
Looking forward to see the whole album. I’m really happy for her. Congratulation, sis.
