Our Life

Birthday celebration is never a grand event in our life. No surprise and no nicely wrapped present. That’s just not our style. He always tells me, no surprise please. He doesn’t want to get heart attack if I do anything drastic. Haha! So for his birthday this year, it is the usual stuff. Eat, of course.

His dear younger sister always buys him cakes for his birthday each year. This year it’s cupcakes.

From Cupcake Chic…

From his dear wife, this is what I bought…

Our membership to the new Celebrity Fitness center in Wangsa Walk Mall.

This was no surprise as we went to inquire about this membership even before he went to US. However, I specially requested to start our membership this month, only after he came back. Of course, it’s my idea to join membership and it’s my first time paying for both of us. I think it’s kind of cool to be his birthday present, right? Now, let me think what I want for my birthday soon. Haha!

We went for our first yoga class on Friday. Then he went for his first RPM class which I think it’s so cool. I will want to try out next session. Hehe! Now we both are all pains on the arms, thighs and asses. Haha! Which I think it’s good. We are in desperate need for exercise to keep fit. It has been so long since we last joined yoga. I miss it so much. This new fitness center is kind of cool and convenient to us. We no longer need to travel for half an hour and mostly stuck in traffic jam to Cheras for yoga. Now we just need 10 minutes and we are there. Furthermore, there are a lot of good food in this new Wangsa Walk Mall. Most importantly, Subway is opened. My favorite.

On Saturday night, I asked him what he wanted to eat to start the celebration. Guess what? We were so lazy to go out and at the end, we ordered pizza delivery. We spent hours on bed watching movies and eating pizzas. Haha! On his birthday afternoon, I suggested to bring him to Ampang for Korean’s. Our favorite kimchi soup. After that, we went for his favorite waffles and lastly, we spent the rest of the day with family at my in-law’s.

That’s pretty much concluded the celebration, if you call it one. Like I said, we love to eat therefore, we need to exercise even more. It’s time for another round of RPM and yoga, darling. Hehe!

Happy Birthday to you, my darling!

Finally, today is the day. In another 6 hours or so, I will be able to see my darling again. Hu hu!

This will be the last part of ‘While he’s away’. As of tonight, I won’t let him go anywhere without me. Haha!

Let me refresh what I did for this week. I went to Ikea on Tuesday with my best colleague. Redeemed my Allianze Ikea card points for RM20 voucher. Bought 2 throws and had my favorite meat balls for dinner. On Wednesday, I went to dinner with 2 of my best friends in Solaris Mont Kiara. Originally, we wanted to try the Taiwanese food but after seeing the menu, I decided not suitable to our taste. We went to Michael Angelo’s instead. I always love Italian’s. Pasta no less. The ambiance was very nice and the food was great too. However, without some discount, they sure are costly.

Here are some of the nice yummy food photos. Hope you enjoy. Haha!

Complimentary…crispy and fresh

Our starter… a Caesar salad…though its Italian name I can never pronounce…

Mushroom fettuccine…I think…

Smoked duck spaghetti…

Finally, our dessert, can’t remember the name now…but it tastes yummy…

Spending time with friends is always well worth our time. It’s always fun and relaxing. Thank you for spending time with me when you know I’m lonely…Haha! I found out that there are a lot more restaurants in Solaris that I wish to try. One day, perhaps. When he’s back. Hehe!

Yesterday after work, I decided to drop by Wangsa Walk Mall, the newest soon to be the hype in Wangsa Maju area. There are so many more new shops opened since my last visit. I couldn’t believe that Subway is opened. Hooray! TGV is said to be opened next March. Really can’t wait. Since I was alone and for the last night, I went to Popular Bookstore and leisurely enjoy my time. You see, my darling normally has no patience waiting for me to see books. He always count the time while I’m in a bookstore. Can’t blame him, he’s not a bookworm, unlike me.  Hehe!

I’m truly glad that the 2-week is over. I can’t say I was happy while he’s away nor was I unhappy. Lonely, yes. I truly appreciate all my friends’ support and their valuable time to be with me during this period. I was said to be without a leash for 2 weeks, fully enjoying myself but soon I will be back in ‘jail’. But gladly. Those who said these are obviously too dramatic. Nevertheless, I’m excited for tonight. I’m not going to let him out of my sight once he’s back in my embrace. Hehe! Too romantic now? Haha!

Feel like I have been away from my blog very long but in actual fact, I was away only 2 days. I went back to hometown with my best colleague and bringing another colleague and her family along too. It was an awesome trip full with abundant of food. That’s the purpose of this trip anyway. Haha!

I basically brought them to all the famous food outlets in my hometown. Our first stop for breakfast was the famous ‘Hakka mee’. Then we stopped for ‘tau foo fa’ and ‘chendol ais’. In later afternoon, we went for ‘Lou Wong Taugeh Ayam’. At night, my mum cooked so much that can feed 20 people. Haha! The next morning we went for dim sum at the new Foh San. Then we went to morning market. Bought more food, ‘nasi lemak’ and ‘char kuey’.  All yum yum food. Oh, not forgetting my mum’s special dessert at home. We had second round of ‘tau foo fa’ and my colleagues bought a few boxes of salted chicken to bring back to KL. I brought back my mum special sweet and sour vegetable stew to KL. Haha! Never tired of eating, I tell you. On our way back to KL, we dropped by to Batu Gajah’s most famous tourist attraction, the Kellie’s Castle. It has been so long since my last visit. Must be in my younger days cause I don’t really remember the place. Our visit this time was good. We had fun. The scenery was very nice.

The castle is really such as beauty. So sad that this lovely castle is never going to be completed.

Ah, and I nearly forgot to mention about the durian. Opps! My darling sure will want to twist my ear when he reads this. He always afraid I get too heaty. However, this time I don’t feel heaty at all. I guess my enough of sleep does make a difference even though it was a hectic weekend.

I heard from my darling that it started to snow in US. The temperature is dropping to below 0 degree. Yet, I think he quite enjoyed himself with his colleagues. Going shopping and sight-seeing and eating. He said everything is so cheap during the sale. I bet he bought a lot of things. I seriously didn’t ask him to buy any for me. However, knowing him, he definitely will buy something. I don’t really mind. Nothing much I want over there. Unlike my sister who has demanded help to purchase a Coach. Seriously, I don’t even know how does a Coach look like or what so special about it before this. However, my sister seems to be going ‘ga-ga’ about it.  Sometimes I wonder am I a woman? Why la I never demand such thing? Shouldn’t I demand nice expensive handbag and watch.

Of course I love handbags. Not forgetting shoes. I don’t really like those famous brands for only one reason: leather. I know they have non-leather bags but what they are most famous is their leather bags, right? That’s why I never look at those brands before, not only they are damn expensive in Malaysia but also their leather design. This is only my personal opinion and there’s nothing wrong for anyone to like these expensive brands. I did go through Coach designs online and they are indeed very nice. No wonder my sister will love it so much but I’m not sure will my darling be able to get what she wants. It’s very hard for a man to buy ladies’ stuff especially not for his wife. Haha!

Anyway, I’m happy that it’s only 4 more days until he’s home. I can’t wait to see and hug him this Friday. I truly miss him so much. Alone time is so suffering…sigh…

I seriously don’t know how people survive in long distance relationships. I for one cannot survive longer than necessary. Sigh! It has been 4 days since he’s away and truth to be told, I feel kind of miserable. Although my colleagues thought I enjoy my freedom and is happy for now cause I have been showing a happy face planning my outing, deep down I’m lonely and miserable especially at home. I don’t like home alone. Sigh!

Anyway, on the bright side, guess how I spent the last 2 days. I went for 2 movies 2 days in a row at the same place. Hehe! My very good colleague had already booked me for watching New Moon together. Since this kind of movie obviously not for my darling, it’s the best time to watch without feeling that I left him behind. We went to buy movie tickets after work on Monday but all the good seats were gone. Leaving us not much choice, we bought the tickets for Christmas Carol instead and bought the New Moon tickets for the next day too. As I didn’t know much about this X’mas Carol, I had no expectation whatsoever but the movie did turn out to be quite good. Meaningful enough but that is usual for Charles Dicken’s story. However, I think the movie should be waited for X’mas and not so early before X’mas to be aired.

So, on Tuesday night, we went to watch New Moon. Finally, my long awaited movie for the year. After reading all the Twilight novels, watching the movies can be quite satisfying. I had high expectation for this second movie as I really want to see the transformation of Jacob. However, I’m not a big fan of Jacob and neither Edward alone. I’m more into the Cullen family as a whole and how strong they are together. As expected, New Moon has less Cullen-time in it but more Jacob-time. It’s quite satisfying to see Jacob turns out to be quite good looking. Very appetizing actually. Hehe! I have to say that it’s quite close to the novel and it’s really good to somehow see the story comes to life. I really can’t wait to see the third movie, Eclipse for more actions.

Many said that these kind of movies are ladies’ movies but surprisingly I saw a lot of men watching New Moon. I guess they were probably being dragged along by the girlfriends. Pity them especially they have to watch half naked Jacob with his new well-built body most of the time. Haha! It’s so funny when every time Jacob appears half naked, the audience would woo-ahh…Damn funny. They did the same when they see Edward half naked too. I wonder what the matter with half naked men. Haha!

As for tonight, I have a date with my darling’s younger sister. Today is her birthday. It will be at the same place tonight too. That makes it 3 days in a row at the same mall. Hehe! Even though my schedule may look like I’m fully occupied but somehow I truly miss him a lot. His absence at home is truly felt. Sob sob! I’m a failure in long distance relationship and pray his trip like this won’t happen often. I can die like that…. :P

I’m going to start off a series of While he’s away, mainly to capture what happen in my life during his absence for his reading pleasure. This will be my report to him for not wrecking our home or partying away too late (or I will just not mention it…haha).

On the day before his flight, it was a public holiday. We spent the morning by waking up late and then we went to Ampang Point for his favorite Taiwan noodle for lunch. He had always wanted to watch 2012 but failed to get good seat so we tried our luck at Ampang Galaxy after lunch. Again we had no luck for the 3.30 p.m. show but we bought the 6:30 p.m. and went home first. It was really bittersweet to me on that day, knowing that the next day he would be away for the next 2 weeks. I felt like I wanted to hug him and never let go. Sigh!

On Saturday morning, we woke up early and arrived at KL Sentral around 8:30 a.m. He went to check-in but we found that the check-in area is now closed up with the ERL ticket counter. It’s now a requirement to buy the ERL ticket first before he could check-in. After checking in his luggage and got his boarding pass, we went to Coffee Bean which is just around the corner. We had breakfast at the same place the year before on his US trip too. Hehe! So, we decided to reminisce on breakfast. Haha! Around 9:15 a.m. I had to see him off to departure. It was really hard for me even though I thought the second time should be better. I nearly cried but I couldn’t show him that (though I think he will read about this). Hehe!

After I had seen him off, I took the LRT to Kelana Jaya to join my sister and mum. We were supposed to go out but unfortunately my mum was sick. Feverish and vomiting. So I spent nearly the whole day at my sister’s house, watching DVD and Astro. I waited until in the evening for my mum to go back hometown then only my sister sent me to LRT and I took it straight home. I drove to my in-law’s and had dinner there. I went back to my our own home, feeling a bit empty but I occupied myself with drama and surfing net. I waited until 12 midnight hoping that my darling would call or text me when he arrived at London airport for transit. During that waiting period, I’m lucky to have his colleague’s fiancée for company online. We two were staying up late and waiting patiently for our spouses to contact us. I received my darling’s text message around 12:30 a.m. telling me he had arrived at London. His long distance call followed not long after. I was totally excited to hear from him.

I went to sleep after his call around 1 a.m. and woke up the next morning around 8 a.m. Really couldn’t sleep that much. Spent the morning watching DVD and drama again while waiting for the time to pass. He would be arriving around 1 p.m. and I would like to get his message. However, even after 2 p.m. still no news from him, I got a bit worried. Luckily, his colleague had sent message to his fiancée and she told me they had arrived in New York and en route to hotel. Sigh!  He only called me once he’s in the hotel.  Thank God everything is well. The waiting game is no fun at all.

Now that he’s safe and sound, I can start to enjoy my ‘freedom’. Hehe! I have a few appointments in line already this week. Tell you more later. Haha!

Ever since I finished my last final exam, I have been kept busy with the TV and novels and outings. I have finished 2 novels in 3 days last week, though I haven’t actually started any new drama yet. I went back to hometown last weekend with my darling. As usual, it was a rush one. Went on Saturday and back here on Sunday.

Although I said I’m pretty much busy with so much, you see I have more time to update blog. Haha! It’s so much fun to write when one is not occupied with study. The brain seems to be having so much free space ever since the end of semester. Hehe! Just imagine a computer memory. When you are preparing for exam, you load so much into the memory and hope it will not crash because of overloading. During the exam, you take every bit of the memory for building your answers. Once finish, you unload or delete the memory and reload with new topic into the memory for the next exam. Sorry that I can’t use better metaphor cause I have been treating my brain as if a computer system but of course it’s not as fast as the latest technology. After all, I’m the old technology which was born 2o over years ago. Haha! Anyway, I was saying that when you have nothing much to input into the memory, you just feel so empty and you will start trying to find something to do to fill the emptiness. Writing is one of my way. It definitely helps the memory to keep working. Hehe!

Actually, I have more to update. Our third anniversary is around the corner. Nothing fancy nor great celebration. It will be just a normal day. However, I always like to recap the past year of our marriage during such anniversary. I haven’t written anything yet but I will soon. For now, I expect a busy week ahead as I have 3 wedding dinners to attend this weekend. Sigh! Meanwhile, I have updated some nice meow meow photos in my darling’s blog. Feel free to see…just click on the photo:

This is just a sample of the result of his ‘expensive’ toy…Hehe!

…Supernatural Season 5, of course. Oh my! My favorite show is back with more actions. Lucifer is on the loose and the apocalypse is here.

It began in September and it’s still ongoing with one episode a week airing in CWTV. I have been following it closely every week, just after CW aired it, I have the downloaded version a couple days later. Hehe! Thank to my darling’s colleague who is so dedicated in following the show and downloaded every episode for me. Haha! If you didn’t already know, I’m a big fan of Supernatural. I have every episode for Season 1 to 4 and they are my precious collection. Don’t ask me why I love the show so much, I just do whenever there are demons, ghosts and super power elements. Haha! My darling thinks I’m a bit sadist and my colleagues already nicknamed me ‘Jennifer the Lucifer’. I kind of like the name. Hehe!

To be honest, I have been following every episode since the beginning without fail, even though during my busiest study weeks and exams. Haha! I just can’t wait to see the next episode. That’s how much I love the show.

csi-10-3

I also have been following CSI the latest Season 10. Downloaded every episode after it aired in US. CSI is getting better and better. The graphic is so cool with the starting episode 1, it was amazing. With Laurence Fishburne as the new leading role since the middle of Season 9, it’s quite refreshing to see the new ‘Grissom-less’ CSI with new people and stories, though I heard Grissom will be back soon. We already saw Sarah back in first episode of this new season. So, I guess more to see soon.

Heard this new show one day from a colleagues who was following the show from TV. It’s called Lie To Me. Not sure if anyone has seen it. The show seems very interesting so I went to google it and found the whole Season 1 for download. Completed watching just yesterday. Now I’m looking for Season 2. This show is really not bad at all. Very interesting to learn this microexpressions and know right away who is lying. I would love to try it on my darling and see whether he cheats on me. But then, he also watched the show with me, I’m sure he has already learnt a few tricks to cover up. Haha!

lie_to_me

Oh my, it seems like all I talked about today are shows I like. I still have one more to share but I have only watched the first episode of the first season. It was recommended from the same colleague of my darling who downloaded Supernatural for me. The show’s name is Fringe. Weird name if you ask me however from the first episode, it was quite cool. There’s always something out there just unknown to us all. Ohhhh….scary….hehehe!

I’m extremely happy today. It’s my last final paper, the advanced network. I hope I did good, praying hard. Hehe! So to celebrate the beginning of my semester holiday, I went dating with my darling to KLCC and Wangsa Walk. All we did were shopping (not me though) and eat, eat, eat. I’m sure enjoying myself very much before I start work tomorrow. Hehe! I’m also ready to start my drama marathon and my precious novels. Can’t wait. Hu hu!

My semester is over. My postgrad story will take a break. Soon I will come back with more stories. Probably after my drama and a good sleep. Haha!

Finally, I have time to blog a bit since I have just finished the midterm for database last night. Here is what my darling bought recently.

DSC05545 (Medium)

It can be carried in a bag. It can take you around the neighborhood. Guess what it is…

the best when you least expect it.

Like what my darling always says, when you don’t expect something and you get it at the end, you double your happiness. In contrary, when you put high expectation to get something, even though you get it at the end, you are just merely happy and won’t be ecstatic.

So the formula to happiness according to my darling:

No expectation = high happiness

That’s why he’s so happy over the weekend. What made him so happy? Blog later…of course, it’s something about his new gadget…Haha!
