Chinese New Year is roughly a month away. Time to prepare the ‘ang pau’. This will be our second year giving out ‘ang pau’ though this year we can save a lot of ‘ang pau’ packets as we no longer need to give double. Hehe!

This will also be my second year going back to Ipoh only on the second day onwards. If you don’t know the Chinese tradition, let me explain to you. Once I have married, I can no longer celebrate CNY reunion dinner and first day at my own house. I have to spend those days with my darling’s family in KL. That’s the custom for married daughter.

However, CNY this year falls on Monday and Tuesday, which means we all have to take leave for sure as I can only go back on Tuesday onwards. Unfortunately, my darling’s on call schedule falls on the CNY week which means he needs to work on Wednesday until Friday that week (minus the two days of public holiday). Plus he also need to work weekend on call on the same week. Oh no…my mum and grandma are going to ‘kill’ me, I thought. Luckily (and thank God), my darling’s colleague, Jerm, is such a good friend cum colleague. He’s willing to replace my darling for that on call weekdays. My darling will take the weekend on call as scheduled.

I’m truly indebted. Thank you so much, Jerm. You wouldn’t know how much that mean to us (me especially…hehe). I can go home for CNY. Hooray!

Next task: finding the money for the ‘ang pau’. We are going to be so broke next month. Sigh!

Last Saturday was our 2nd anniversary of ROM day. We didn’t have any plan other than I had a date with one of my best friends, Aun Ni. We met at One Utama for lunch at The Paddington House of Pancakes, our favorite all the time. We had great time together catching up with our own happenings in life. She, of course, has good news for us. She’s expecting her third now. I’m so happy for her. She will be going back to Australia too to give birth as she did for her two children before. This time, I’m hoping to visit her in Australia next year. Let see how things go next year. We probably might go visiting her. Hehe!

I’m glad that she gets my updates in life through my blog. I’m amazed how well she knows our happenings as if we always talk and share (which is hard as she’s a full time mother who has demanding children…hehe). I’m really happy that my blog has great purpose: a way to keep in touch with my friends. It save me a lot of energy telling updates to all my friends when I meet them in person once in awhile.

Anyway, before we said good-bye, she gave me something very nice. She said she wanted to give them to me long time but she always forgot. Hehe!

So colorful

They are Body Shop perfumes. I love them very much.

After lunch, my darling and I went window shopping for awhile. Then we went to GSC to see whether we could catch Madagascar 2 movie but found a lot of people queuing so we didn’t manage to go. Then we walked some more and came to TGV. Surprisingly there’s not many people and we managed to buy the tickets. Madagascar 2 was good and we had a good laugh.

I didn’t plan or expect our Saturday to be good but it turned out just nice. Sort of celebrated our anniversary. He he! The way I like it…

This post is actually long overdued. My darling and I were invited to have drink and watch football match at Deb’s house on 18 Oct. He brought his DSLR along because we know Deb has a cute Jack Russell. The following photos are dedicated to Deb and her Russell.

This is Russell, the Jack Russell. Isn’t he handsome? He can do a lot of tricks, you know. Very smart.

 Russell’s enjoying his bone.

That’s my hand there. I can easily melt away with those eyes looking at me. So cute…

Thank you so much to Deb for providing the venue and all the drinks that night. We had a great night watching the game and drinking. I had gin and a shot of tequila. Luckily not too intoxicated that night but went to sleep right away once reached home anyway. Hehe!

Deb really can open a bar at her home as she has all kind of drinks and all type of drinking glass. Hehe! Looking forward to another round of drinking at your home, Deb. Hahaha!

And thank you Sharon too for inviting us for the ‘makan-makan’ at Chan Sow Lin. Looking forward too for our next outing.

I was home alone yesterday. Why? I was sick. Not too sick but I just wanted to sleep. I was sleeping on the sofa the previous night while my darling slept in the room. I didn’t want the air-con, hoping my headache and cold would cure in the morning. But it didn’t go away in the morning. At the end, I had to tell my darling I couldn’t go to work. I had to stay at home alone and he went to work alone. I continued to sleep until 10 a.m….on the sofa still. The sofa is good. I love my sofa. And once in awhile, I love staying home alone. Hehe! Why? So I can conquer all. My sofa, my TV, my DVDs, my kitchen. Haha! Of course, my darling called a few times back home from his office. Just to check on me whether have I been naughty. Naughty in the sense of turning the house upside down. Haha! Of course not. He was worried about me. Reminded me a few times that he would take me to see doctor. Of course I refused. I hate eating medicine. Yucks! Luckily after a lot of sleep and by evening, I felt much better. Not so cold anymore and the headache was lesser. Hehe!

Ms Pinky also smsed me. She’s very observant, you know. She found me offline and assumed that I was at home resting. So she smsed me to send me her TLC and hope I get well soon. Thank you so much my dear. I really appreciate your concern and TLC. Hehe! With all my darling’s and friends’ concerns and regards, I’m well now. No worry. Thank you so much.

How many time in your life that you will be happy when you are sick? Today is the day. I’m sick. I have bad headache. My body feels slight pain as if I have flu and cold. Other than that, I think I’m quite well. Though I know I’m sick, I still feel happy. Happy to know so many care for me.

My darling pity me this morning and suggested to take me to doctor. Of course I refused. I dislike seeing doctor. No more injection please. My colleague, Ms Lee, offered me delicious sandwich for breakfast. My another colleague, Ms Wong, offered me to pack lunch. See why am I not happy even though I’m sick when I have so many caring friends. Then I have emailed my two best friends to get their pity on me. Ms Chan practically ‘ordered’ me to go home rest through her email. Ms Lau on the other hand ‘ordered’ me to drink 100plus and water. She said it’s probably the heat that makes me sick. I believe so. Feel so heaty inside yet so cold outside. 100% sick.

The weather outside office is so gloomy and raining heavily. It makes me want to sleep and wish myself at home. Nevermind that. At least I have my darling’s and all my good friends’ TLC. I’m sure I will get well soon with all those orders. Hahaha!

PS: After I posted this entry, another two friends sent me messages through MSN. Ms Sophie and Ms Pinky wished me get well soon and get more rest. I’m so lucky to have so many caring friends. Thank you so much.

I’m blessed yet again to have a lovely evening spent with two of my best friends, Ms Chan and Ms Lau. Yesterday was the company annual dinner for my darling at One Hotel. So, I planned an outing with them at One Utama. We had great time together. We went for BBQ for dinner and then walked around windows shopping. After that, we spent the remaining evening at ‘Wong Kok’ for drinks. We chatted about anything, laughed, teased and shared experience. Hehe! Hope we can meet again soon. Ms Chan has promised home-cooked dinner at her place soon. Yummy!

I also had a great time last Friday with my good friend cum colleague, Ms Lee. We took half day off to SS2 for our dentist appointments. My teeth are not doing very good. Very soon I will have to do my wisdom tooth removal surgery. Sigh! Anyway, after the dentist, we went to The Curve – Cineplex for movie. The Dark Knight at 3:10 p.m. The movie is quite impressive especially all those gadgets but the ending is not something I expect. Nevermind that. We had dinner at The Apartment. The chicken I had was just so-so but I do agree with my darling that the place has a nice ambience. My next movie will be The Mummy 3. Can’t wait…hehe!

My life so far has been blessed with many best friends. I consider myself a lucky one as I have a few very best friends since school. I have these two best friends since secondary school in Ipoh, Ms Chan and Ms Lau. We are still very best friends until now even though we live quite far apart and seldom see each other. As Ms Chan is already married with a child and Ms Lau is always busy with her work and training, we do make it an effort to meet up once in awhile. I truly appreciate our time together and sincerely thank God for being my best friends for so long.

Then, I have another best friend, Ms Pinky. Our friendship blossoms after secondary school. It’s weird that we only got closer after both of us came to KL and not in Ipoh as we were living quite near to each other. It’s always amazing how we meet and make friends. Sort of like a destiny.

I feel truly blessed as I got to know another best friend in college, Ms Hilde. We are such a good friend that we know each other family. Our faith sort of twisted together and our friendship is more complicated. Haha! Sort of. I got my first job through the recommendation of Ms Hilde’s sister, Ms Mic. Ms Mic had become my senior at work for a few years before she left for another company. Then my darling was recommended to Ms Mic’s current company. So, you see, our relationship is complicated in a way.

Due to Ms Mic’s recommendation for me to work here, I got to know another best friend in this workplace, Ms Tan. We are still very good friends even though she’s no longer working here or any for the matter as she’s now a fulltime housewife taking care of her two kids and living in Setiawan. Whenever she’s in KL, we sure meet up. It’s always a good time to spend with best friends.

Always count your blessings, that’s what I’m doing now. Thank you for being my best friends. Thank you for the time you spend with me and the gossip you share and the secret you trust me to keep. Hahaha! Oh…I nearly forget…my greatest best friend after all is, of course, my darling. Thank you for being my hubby, my lover, my protector and my best friend of all. Hehe!

I have two best friends since the school days. I think we are still best friends until today although we seldom meet up now due to our work and tight schedule. In recent years especially after I have married, we keep in touch more often. I’m really happy. We met up on 9 Dec 07, not long after my wedding in Nov in Bangsar. We had a long time chatting and catching up. Although they did come for my wedding, obviously I had no time for time. Bad on my part really. We met again on 10 May 08 at The Curve. We had another good time. Unfortunately, I didn’t take any latest photo this time. The below photo was taken during our first outing last year.

The pretty one in the middle is Hung Yee. The athletic one is Pui San. We are all so different and yet we can become best friends. It’s truly a wonder. Hehe! Nevertheless, I’m trying to organise another outing to my home. I truly hope we can continue keep our friendship forever.

I was browsing around today to read some blogs. Went to my best friend’s Hilde’s blog. Not much updates in her blog so I clicked on the link to her chinese blog. Although I don’t know what she’s writing there but I still enjoy seeing her photos of her travel and food experience. Then I saw one post about ‘my best friend birthday’ and I saw my birthday cake. I knew by then that she must be writing about me. But the problem now is I don’t understand a word of her post. All chinese and I’m so illiterate. Looking for translator…looking for translator. But it’s still early morning, no translator around yet. So I msn her. At the same time I was trying to figure out a few words that I think I understand. Then I figure out that she must be writing to tell everyone that she had forgotten my birthday and felt sorry. She confirmed my guess through msn. Haha! So my chinese is not bad, huh? Hehe!

I patiently waited for my translator to arrive for work then I grabbed hold of her and asked her to read the post. She read in Cantonese word by word. So funny. My best friend is the most funny person I have ever known. Haha! If you know Chinese, just check out her blog. Her blog is very informative other than being funny, that is. Hehe!

Finally, we have met. After chatting and sharing for so many months, I have finally met Angie (a.k.a Babysiew) in person. I have the chance to meet her childhood friend (since Primary 1), Pani too. We three had a great time yesterday eating and chatting and laughing (very unladylike of us, I guess).

I truly feel that our friendship is so amazing. Can you believe it that we met through the Internet? Not online chatting, mind you. Surprisingly, we met through my beloved blog…this blog. Then I introduced Angie to Malaysia Brides forum and we got to know each other even more. Sharing all kind of information (even intimate one) about our imminent weddings. Hahaha!

I truly appreciate our friendship (and believe me when I say this kind of friendship is rare and you won’t get it everyday). Thank you so much for meeting up with me, Angie. I’m truly looking forward to our next meeting and hopefully more to come.
