Happy Dragon Year

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

Hope your Chinese New Year is good so far. Our celebration this year is the most quiet and uneventful one. We fetched the father home from the hospital last Saturday. Tried our best to make him feel at home and more comfortable.

We had our last minute CNY shopping on Sunday. Grabbed boxes of Mandarin oranges as gifts to neighbors and family.

We spent the first day of CNY mostly at home. Watched some DVDs and played some card games.

Of course, being married, the one thing that we cannot run away from is preparing the red packets.

Luckily, we usually don’t get many visitors so I didn’t prepare many.

It’s very quiet CNY for us because we seriously have no mood for festive seeing the father’s still not fully recovered. Anyway, I hope your CNY celebration is much livelier than us. Hehe!

Happy CNY to you and your extended family!

Your angpow packets are very pretty – did you buy them? I just use those free angpow packets given by departmental stores/banks.

Despite my mil being in and out of the hospital 3 times for the past few weeks before CNY (heart issues – did angiogram and now may need to consider bypass), I like my CNY this year the most because due to mil’s condition, the whole family came together to support her. My spouse did most of the CNY cooking helped by his sisters and of course myself.

Hope your father-in-law keeps positive! And you too!

      Mun,

I’m sorry to hear about your MIL. Hope she gets well soon. Glad you have a good CNY with family. We will be positive. Thanks for your concern. :)
